Come and learn about the history of these magnificent creatures and how we were able to save it from extinction. It’s a true success story about people righting a environmental wrong that was done. We will discuss current issues today and highlight ways you can help to protect these awe-inspiring creatures. Be sure to bring your binoculars so we can go look for some at the program.

But for those of you who want to bring a light along we'll have red tinted cellophane to help with night vision. At the end of the night hike/walk join us around the bonfire for some treats! Come join the Mercer County Conservation District as they welcome a brand new series to their program line up called “Get Outside, Come Alive”. This series is designed to highlight conservation and recreation throughout Mercer County and in the state of PA. This is a monthly series. Each month will highlight a new topic.The program runs from 6 PM to 7:30 PM and you must pre-register by the Friday before. The fee for the program is $5 per adult; children 17 & under are free but must be accompanied by an adult. These programs will be held in the Munnell Run Farm Pig barn. Cyndi Burk is a very innovative and talented artisan who owns “The Nut House” in Mercer, PA. She is a florist by trade, but is also very accomplished at painting, refurbishing old items, making treasure out of trash, just to name a few. She is also a very accomplished gardener who loves growing and cooking with herbs. The class will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Munnell Run Farm “Pig Barn” (753 Greenville Road, Mercer, PA 16137) which is located one mile outside the courthouse on Route 58 going towards Greenville. We ask that you bring any decorative items to enhance your natural wreath as well as wire cutters. All other materials will be provided.
