August 2, 2011 - “Dancing Waters”
Water is a unique chemical that is made up of many molecules. Depending on the state of water, molecules tend to move or “dance”. Today we will learn about the different states of water and how they “dance” around with your help. We will also learn about the different forms that water comes in and will conclude the day with a real explosive finale. Come check it out! In regards to clothing attire, any would be appropriate.
August 9, 2011- “Water: Our Friend”
Today the students will learn about the four things required for life, while focusing on the main topic of the summer programs: water. The students will learn how water is important to them and all living things. The students will then learn about water’s significance to vernal ponds. After the brief discussion, the students will take a field trip to our woodlot to visit a vernal pond and see all that lives there. The day will end with a “Temporary Wetland Scavenger Hunt.” In regards to clothing attire, be sure to wear sneakers or boots for the woodlot exploration. Bug spray is highly recommended to keep the ‘squitoes away. |
